There are so many websites online, with thousands of new ones appearing every day.
There are also a vast number of different ways to make money online.
Sadly, a lot of them are scams and are just trying to separate people from their hard earned cash.
No matter what business opportunity you come across online, always do some research before making any decisions.
Quite often you will see time limits on certain offers. e.g. "Don't miss out. This offer will end at midnight tonight."
Ironically the next day the same offer is still going.
There are several websites that offer reviews of business opportunities and list known scams so that others can learn and not get caught out.
Genuine Internet Marketing businesses know that it is smarter to work with people and build solid businesses than to just try and "make a fast buck."
So if you come across a business/job you are uncertain about, feel free to email me and I can give you site addresses to check them out for yourself.

I felt it too good a concept to keep to myself so click here to find out more for yourself.

Resumes and Job Searching
Is your resume good enough to get an interview?
Do you know all the ways you can try to find a job?
I can help you with both of these things.
If your resume is not good, you will not even get an interview, let alone the chance to get the job.
The average employer receives between 100-500 resumes per advertised job.
60% of jobs are never advertised.
So you need to do everything in your power to ensure you have the best chance of beating the rest.
So please email me if you want my help.
I make no promises. I can only say that I will do my best to improve your resume, help you look for work and teach you where to look to find work.

Television is a powerful Tool.
I still find it amazing that television can have such a powerful effect on things in our lives.
Most of the time events happen that we are not directly connected with. However, sometimes things happen and we see how fast the news stories can travel.
Last week a certain current affairs show had a story about Internet Marketing and how it can help people earn money from home. This is important in this tough economic climate.
What I did not expect was the number of people who sent me emails after seeing the same story I had. I believe television lends a lot of credibility to things, depending on what show it is of course.
Naturally not all forms of Internet Marketing are beneficial for those who decide to become involved. However, for those who make the right choice, it can be life-changing.
I will just say that it made me happy to see the show and affirm my own confidence in what I am doing.

A golden opportunity
There are so many people out there looking for jobs now and less jobs than ever.
Because of this, a lot of people are looking at various ways to try and earn money online.
People find a range of things from surveys, mystery shopping, product testing, Multi Level Marketing Schemes, Data Entry programs working from home...... the list goes on and on.
It is also fair to say that a large proportion of the "jobs" advertised are scams and are only interested in taking your money and giving you very little or sometimes nothing in return.
I have walked that minefield myself and it is not pleasant at all.
I have also looked at various internet marketing business opportunities and some of them are in the same boat.......... scams.
However, I have recently come across one particular business which completely amazes me. It is very well organised. From the fantastic support structure to the knowledge and tools freely available to all members, this has to be the best thing I have ever seen.
They give you so much information and you are not part of a MLM "downline." You are actually the owner of your own online business.
To sign up for your free Traffic Exchange Report click here.
After you have read the report I suspect your mind will start thinking about ways to pay some extra bills, create a new career, go on a holiday or even set yourself up financially for the rest of your life.
If this is the case then simply click here and check it all out for yourself.
You have nothing to lose.

Proofreading
Over the last few months I have spent countless hours checking out numerous internet marketing sites, auto responder emails, job sites and EBooks and have found a common flaw in a LOT of the material that I have seen.
There seems to be either a lack of interest or a lack of competency in ensuring that the written content of material is correct with regards to spelling, grammar and punctuation.
I am fully aware that numerous words are spelt differently in the U.S.A compared to Australia (which is where I live) but they are not the things I am talking about.
I also know that English may not be the first language of some people and this makes the task even harder.
I know the competition among internet marketers is enormous and growing rapidly.
Therefore the quality of resources used should constantly be checked and corrected if mistakes are found. I would like to offer my expertise to anybody needing it. This will ease concerns about the accuracy of content because having someone else do it means it will inevitably be done faster and they can move onto the next task.
I charge by the job, not by the hour, and calculate it based on the size and urgency of the job. Please email me if you want to utilise my services.

Different ways to earn money
This is the year 2009. Things are very different to 5, 10 and 20 years ago in so many ways.
Employment is very different. 20 years ago the majority of jobs were standardised hours. People worked 9am - 5pm or maybe a nightshift.
Today people work a variety of ever changing hours across all seven days of the week.
Employers and workers have different expectations from their working life and also their life outside of work. A lot of people are also now working from home and earning an income from a variety of different ways. This means new skills have to be learnt. Working from home is completely different to working from an office or factory.
The age of the computer and the World Wide Web Internet has made the world seem like a much smaller place as communications, jobs and many other things have changed through the invention of this technology. Those of us in the "baby boomer" category, or even older, have had to learn to adapt to the ever changing environment in which we find ourselves.
I believe this is a good thing because it enables people who may be limited in their ability to get out of the house, for whatever reason, can still work and live life because of the computers and what they represent.
It also means that employers can offer people work in different ways and thus enabling them to employ people that they may not been able to in the past.
So if you are someone who is looking for ways that you may make use of your computer to earn money, or learn new things, then give it a go! You have nothing to lose.
Feel free to post your comments here and let others know what you are doing.

Time for a new post
Sorry folks but I have been missing in action as i had eye surgery. Bit hard to see enough to try and write when your eyeball is in pain.
But I am back now, albeit a little sore.
So, what's the gossip lately? Gordon Ramsay? I'd offer him a bar of soap for his mouth but he wouldn't like the taste.
How about the great Aussie show Master Chef? They have all the class that Gordon lacks.
It will be interesting to see who ends up as Australia's first Master Chef!

The Importance of a Great Resume
Copyright Laurence Pollwade. 2009
THE IMPORTANCE OF A GREAT RESUME
There are always people looking for jobs. It doesn’t matter where you live, there is unemployment and jobs being advertised, as well as job seekers looking for jobs. A lot of the time the two groups never meet and this is why unemployment is higher than it has to be.
Your resume can be the difference between you even being considered for a job or having it discarded. You may have ALL of the necessary skills, but if you can’t get that across to an employer, then it is useless. There are a lot of differences between an unacceptable resume and a good one. There are also a lot of differences between a good resume and a great resume
I will come back to the cover letter later.
You have to think of yourself as a salesperson when applying for a job and your resume is your advertisement. You have to make your advertisement as appealing and as accurate as you can, so that a prospective employer will stop and take the time to consider employing you. Bear in mind that for every job advertised, there can easily be over 500 applications.
I have had experience from all angles over the years. I have been an employee, an employer and a recruiter. So I have seen firsthand how resumes are treated and analysed by different people, depending on the type of job opportunity.
The first thing you have to do when reading ANY job advertisement is to check whether you meet the selection criteria. If you do, or think you do, then definitely apply.
If you have absolutely no experience in a field that is demanding experience as essential, it is a waste of your time even applying. I can tell you from experience that I found it extremely frustrating receiving resume after resume for a job demanding specific skills and the majority of applicants did NOT have any of the skills required.

Proofreading and why it is so important!!
Proofreading website content.
There are millions of websites on the world wide web right around the world and the number is constantly growing.
Whenever a new website is created, there are many factors that are taken into consideration. These include: colours, navigation, content, information on products and services, SEO, links, ads, rankings, etc. The list goes on and on.
However, the one thing that seems to constantly be overlooked is the actual written content of the site. Spelling, punctuation and grammar are a major part of any website and if these are not accurate, then people will go elsewhere because it creates a negative opinion for visitors to the site and brings down the professionalism of the site and what is being offered.
I recently started proofreading the content for a particular site and after only going through 3 pages, I had already found 34 errors. This really is inexcusable nowadays. A lot of these errors would be picked up with simple spell check. But a lot more simply have to be fixed by a concentrated effort to double and triple check all the material.
I have been involved with a few websites over the years and I would feel extremely embarrassed if someone was to point out a spelling mistake on my site. Everyone should feel the same way and prioritise the quality of the website content as highly as any other factor.
So I would strongly recommend to everybody that you should increase the priority of analysing the content of your website for accuracy in spelling, grammar and punctuation. If you don’t feel comfortable in doing it yourself, then find someone who has the capability to do it all for you so that your site maintains the high professional standard which you are striving to reach.
Because of all the competition on the internet, you want to ensure that your site has the best possible chance of success and so this is definitely an important thing to review.
I do offer my services for website content proofreading, among other things, because I strongly believe that if you have a skill, then why not share it. I also offer an obligation free appraisal.
I urge you all to think about what I have said and how it may relate to you!
